1. What is ReBall?
It's a sport in which a bunch of individuals form teams and play different team games, such as capture the flag, elimination, etc. Only, in this game each player has a paintball marker (gun) that fires rubber balls. If you're shot, you're out of the game and have to wait until the next one starts (which is usually about 6 minutes.) The most common variation is two teams at opposite ends of the playing field and teams fight until one team is eliminated. When you encounter people on the other team, you try to hit them before they get you. Pretty simple and lots of fun.
2. Is it safe?
Like all action sports (football, baseball, lacrosse, etc.) ReBall has it's risks, unless a player wears adequate protection and follows all safety rules. The markers shoot a 68 caliber rubber ball at speeds of 200 to 225 feet per second. Since the ReBalls are fairly light (only weighing a few grams each), they have enough momentum to travel within the field of play, but not injure someone with adequate protection.
Safety is of utmost importance. Masks must be worn whenever you are IN the playing arena and a barrel cover must be used anytime you are NOT in the playing arena. (see Safety and field rules for details.)
3. Doesn't it hurt when you get shot?
The ReBalls are rubber and have some give to them and generally cause very little pain. What pain is experienced is more of a stinging sensation from the initial impact, but is lessened by clothing. When hit, any sting you may feel, will go away after a few seconds. Of course, the closer you are to the muzzle of the gun, the higher the velocity of the ball when it hits you. Thus, the reason for the 10 feet rule.
4. Do I have to be on a team?
KJ's ReBall Arena has walk-on games, where anybody can show up and play. Players are assigned to a 'team' at the beginning of each game. If you have certain players you wish to be teamed with, referees will try to accommodate all requests.

6. I don't have a marker, how can I play?
KJ's ReBall Arena supplies you with all of the safety and play equipment you may need with the purchase of a rental package. You may bring your own marker and safety equipment, but the marker must be chronoed to 200-225 fps and all bags are checked upon exit. Rental packages include: the marker, air tank, full face mask, and barrel cover. Term Definition Barrel Cover/ Sock A cover that goes over ‘the business end’ of the marker's muzzle. It prevents projectiles from accidentally leaving the gun. The barrel cover should ALWAYS be on, unless you are starting or in a game. Blind Shooting When a ReBall player shoots their marker around or above an object or bunker without being able to see where their ReBalls are hitting. This is a prohibited tactic of firing in a game. Bunker (noun) An object or embankment on the field that a player uses for cover. Bunker (verb) To charge a bunker and eliminate, a close range, any players hiding behind it. Chronograph A device used to measure the velocity (speed) of a ReBall coming out of a barrel. The maximum allowed speed of a ReBall, at KJ's ReBall Arena, is 225 feet per second or less. CO2 compressed gas used to power markers. Feeder A larger "hopper" which holds ReBalls, feeding them into the gun through its bottom. fps Feet per second. The measurement of speed at which the ReBall travels. 225 fps is the maximum velocity a marker may discharge a ReBall at KJ's ReBall Arena (Chrono Limit). Fogging A condition that arises inside the mask on the lens from overheating while playing. Can reduce visibility of the player. We have an anti-fog solution to will help minimize this condition. Harness Belt/harness system for carrying loaders of paint so that a player may reload their feeder/hopper HPA or HPA stands for High Pressure Air (AKA compressed air) pressurized to 3000 or 4500 psi. HPA is used instead of CO2 in ReBall. The use of HPA requires specialized high pressure tanks and regulators which lower the output pressure to what the markers can handle. Marker A term taken from the paintball sport and refers to the paintball gun, since it ‘marks’ its target when the paint ‘splats’ from the paintball hit. Mask/ The primary protection in ReBall. A protective face shield worn in ReBall that protects the eyes, nose, ears, and mouth from being hit. THIS IS WORN AT ALL TIMES ON THE FIELD. PSI PSI stands for Pounds Per Square Inch and is a measurement of pressure.
6a. I DO have my own marker, is there anything I need to be aware of?
You may bring your own marker for use at KJ's ReBall Arena, but it will need to be chronoed below 225 fps. All weapons must shoot at 13 bps or slower and ramping is not allowed. Pods must be rented from KJ's ReBall Arena and all reballs used on the field must remain on the field. We reserve the right to check all bags upon exiting our facility. We only allowed HPA/Nitrogen tanks. CO2 tanks are not allowed as they can damage the balls.
7. How much does it cost to play?
Specific field prices are located on the pricing page.
8. What do I need to bring?
KJ's ReBall Arena has a full concession area and outside food/drink is not allowed.
Clothing helps minimize the sting of being hit, so long sleeves and long pants are always a plus, but not required.
9. What safety equipment do I need?
The minimum safety equipment necessary is goggles and a facemask with ear protection. Additional protection for the throat and for men, a protective cup is recommended.
10. How can I play safe?
Please see the Safety and Field Rules.
11. Do I need to be physically fit to play?
Not really, but it will help. As with all strenuous exercise participants should stretch and warm up before playing. Since typical games require quick sprints followed by a rest having good an-aerobic fitness is beneficial. Players should gauge their play to their level of fitness.
All players in poor physical condition or with physically limiting conditions should consult a physician before playing.
